Jazz pianist/singer/songwriter/legend Dave Frishberg returns to The Seasons this weekend to pay tribute to baseball during a concert presented in cooperation with the Yakima Bears.

Over the years, Frishberg has written numerous songs featuring America's pastime, and the Bears often play his song "Van Lingo Mungo" during games. (The lyrics are simply the names of baseball players.)

With a career that spans five decades and both coasts, Frishberg -- dubbed the Stephen Sondheim of jazz songwriting by the New York Times -- is responsible for infectious, swinging and humorous tunes such as "Peel Me a Grape," "I'm Hip" and "The Underdog."

Old-school Saturday morning cartoons watchers may also be familiar with Frishberg's work. He was one of the main and memorable contributors to the ABC show "Schoolhouse Rock," and penned the pop culture classics "I'm Just a Bill" and "Conjunction Junction."
