The Yakima Valley Pepsi Pak will open play in the Senior Legion state tournament today at 5 p.m. in Vancouver, an hour later than previously announced.
The Pak (39-16) will face the Budd Bay Bandits from Olympia in a three-day regional at Harmony Sports Complex (located at 18th St. and 192nd Ave.).
Each double-elimination regional playoff includes four teams playing for two berths in the state finals in Tacoma.
Selah's Carlon Park is hosting one of the four regionals. Defending state champion King Nissan of Bellingham will play the Spokane Northstars today at 4 p.m. and the Kennewick Bandits, champions of the Central Washington League, will take on Centralia at
7 p.m.

Selah National in final
MOUNT VERNON -- Bouncing back from its first loss, Selah National defeated Soundview 8-5 on Wednesday to advance to the championship game in the Little League Junior state tournament.
Andrew Gonzalez pitched into the sixth inning and allowed just one run for Selah, which advanced to Thursday's title game against Columbia. No score was available by presstime.

Yakima Elite second in pool
LAS VEGAS -- West Valley senior-to-be Matt Borton scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Yakima Elite's 68-62 loss to the Washington (D.C.) Shocks in the Las Vegas Nike Main Event on Thursday afternoon.
Yakima finished 2-1 in pool play and take a No. 2 seed into today's bracket play.
