Life Choices fundraiser slated
A local Oil Can Henry's is holding a fundraiser for Life Choices, a Yakima organization that offers support to women who are dealing with an unplanned pregnancy or the aftermath of abortion.
The benefit takes place from noon to 4 p.m. May 10 at the Oil Can Henry's at 414 S. 72nd Ave., near Rosauers supermarket and the AutoSpa.
During the event, drivers will receive a free, 20-point, full-service oil change for donating items such as diapers, baby formula or cash.
All proceeds and donations will go to Life Choices, formerly the Crisis Pregnancy Center. The organization began in 1986 with the mission of providing options to abortion. Today, it gives free pregnancy tests, referrals, post-abortion counseling and classes on parenting and the importance of making healthy choices.
The majority of its clients are women ages 16 to 24. All services are free.
This is the second year of the Benefit Oil Change event. And organizers are hoping to reach more people this year, especially moms. The fundraiser takes place during Mother's Day weekend.
