The Mabuhay Foundation is taking applications for its scholarship program.
The deadline to apply is May 1.
Since 2000, the nonprofit corporation for the Filipino-American community of the Yakima Valley has provided scholarships to Yakima Valley seniors who wish to continue their education at a college, university or trade school.
The foundation also oversees memorial scholarships established by families to honor loved ones. These scholarships are entrusted to the foundation by families or organizations with specific guidelines.
Memorial scholarships have been established for: Gene Viernes, Doug Baldoz, Roy and Remedios Baldoz, Tommy and Sophia Dandin, and Joe Barrientos.
This year's scholarship recipients will be announced at a graduate recognition dinner June 1.
