Luncheon slated for administrative pros

The Yakima Valley chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals will hold a luncheon for Administrative Professional Week at noon April 23 at the Howard Johnson Plaza. The luncheon, which will celebrate the achievements of administrative professionals, will feature keynote speaker Sunny Kobe Cook, a former secretary and co-founder of Sleep Country USA, a mattress store chain.

Curfman Chem-Dry is ready to clean

A Yakima carpet cleaning business has new owners and a new name.

Dale and Jennifer Curfman recently took over the Chem-Dry franchise in Yakima. The business has been in Yakima under several different owners for about 15 years. The couple are doing business as Curfman Chem-Dry.

Dale Curfman previously worked for Chem-Dry while studying at Central Washington University. Jennifer Curfman previously worked as the general manger of Lens Crafters in Union Gap. The couple are Yakima natives.

Carey Motors earns President's Award

The Ford Motor Co. has awarded Carey Motors with its 2007 President's Award.

The Dearborn, Mich.-based company gives the award to dealerships that provide customers first-rate treatment throughout the life of their Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicles.

The Yakima firm is one of only 68 Lincoln Mercury dealerships nationwide to earn the award.
