YAKIMA, Wash. — Area rivers have crested and begun to recede.
The Naches River at Naches dropped below flood stage at 1 a.m. this morning, according to data from the Northwest River Forecast Center.
The Naches is at 16.6 feet currently. Flood stage is 17 feet.
For the Yakima River, it’s still going to take a little longer.
Forecast center data indicate the Yakima River at Parker had several peaks early this morning, the highest at 12.21 feet at 1:45 a.m.
The river currently is at 11.5 feet. Flood stage is 10 feet.
The National Weather Service anticipates a flood warning for the Yakima River will remain in effect until Saturday morning.
