<p>YAKIMA -- Yakima County sheriff's detectives are trying to identify a man who cashed stolen checks at a Union Gap bank.</p> <p>The man was recorded making the transaction on the bank's video surveillance system.</p> <p>Detectives released images from the video today in hopes of identifying the man.</p> <p>The checks were stolen from a car in the Naches area in June and later cashed that month for a total value of $1,225, detectives said.</p> <p>Anyone with tips on the man's identity can call Detective Jeff Perrault at 574-2565 or the main sheriff's office number at 574-2500.</p> <p>Tips may also be reported to the Crimestoppers hotline at 800-248-9980.
