  <body>&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Grandview readies spring concerts&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;GRANDVIEW -- The city has ironed out its spring concert lineup for Country Park. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Nonprofit groups and community clubs will take turns staging free outdoor concerts and meals Tuesday nights at Country Park. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here is the schedule: &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;* May 20, Yakima Valley Community Concert Salsa Band, with Mexican food. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;* May 27: Real Life Worship Band, with a barbecue. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;* June 3: Foggy Bottom Band, with a taco feed. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;* June 10: The Variety Show featuring Patrick Burns and Guests, with hot dogs. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;* June 17: The Rolling Hills Chorus, with a salmon dinner. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Meals begin at 6 p.m. for a free-will donation. The free live music starts at 7 p.m. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For more information, call Grandview Parks and Recreation at 882-9219. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Scholarships the talk in Granger&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;GRANGER -- GEAR UP parents will be at Granger Middle School on Tuesday to sign up students for the College Bound Scholarship program. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The program offers four-year scholarships for high-achieving students from low-income families. As part of the application process, students in seven and eighth grades sign pledges to maintain their grades and stay in school. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Volunteers, collectively called the Parent Laptop Team, will be at the middle school from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;GEAR UP is a University of Washington program that helps prepare students for college. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For more information, call the middle school at 854-1003. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Grandview walkers take to the track&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;GRANDVIEW -- Grandview walkers have moved outside for the spring. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The city Parks and Recreation Department leads a free walking program 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now that the weather has warmed up, they will meet at the Grandview High School track. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Participants keep track of their laps while organizers add up the collective distance they have traveled. Last year, they walked far enough to go across the country and back. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For more information, call the Grandview Parks and Recreation Office at 882-9219. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;'Jump on the Bus' on Prosser minds&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;PROSSER --  The Historic Downtown Association of Prosser will hold a forum to discuss its initiatives Monday. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Called &amp;quot;Jump on the Bus,&amp;quot; the forum will be 5:30-7 p.m. upstairs in the Mercer Building on Sixth Street. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The group will discuss leadership, accomplishments and future goals, as well as sign up new members. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The group is pursuing a Main Street designation for downtown Prosser. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For more information, call Deb Heintz, executive director of the Prosser Economic Development Association, at 786-3600. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Lifeguard training set in Sunnyside&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;SUNNYSIDE -- The American Red Cross will hold a lifeguard training course beginning Friday at the Sunnyside pool. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The class offers Red Cross certification and lifesaving techniques. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Cost is $150 in-city, $180 noncity, plus $35 for a book. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Class meets Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and May 24 at a variety of times. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Register at the Sunnyside Community Center, 1521 S. First St., or call 837-8660. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Cyclists will ride for wine center&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;PROSSER -- Motorcyclists will ride for Walter Clore this weekend. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Motorcycle enthusiasts will take a tour of Prosser's wine country Saturday as a fundraiser for the proposed Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The tour, called Moteur de Vine, will begin at 10 a.m. at Desert Valley Power Sports on Merlot Drive. Registration begins at 9 a.m. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It takes in vineyards and wineries in the area and ends with a dinner and dance at Yellow Rose Nursery in Prosser. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Cost is $100 per single rider or $150 per double, which includes lunch and dinner as well as a commemorative T-shirt and wine glass. For more information, call 786-1000. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Impersonators will take to stage&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;TOPPENISH -- The Toppenish Eagles will host a tribute to Marilyn Monroe and Sammy Davis Jr. on Saturday. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The show, featuring impersonators of the entertainers, will be 8 p.m., preceded by a dinner at 6 p.m. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Cost is $25 for both, $19 for the show only. All proceeds go to Special Olympics. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It's open to members and guests but anyone is welcome to be signed in at the door. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For more information, call the Eagles at 865-2229. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;He'll be riding for scholarship program&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;WAPATO -- Leroy Werkhoven, a retired principal of Wapato High School, plans to ride his bicycle across America in the fall to raise money for college scholarships. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Werkhoven, a three-time cancer survivor, will begin his journey in September in Santa Barbara, Calif.
