<p>Yakima attorney Rob Lawrence-Berrey will announce Wednesday his candidacy for the Yakima County Superior Court bench. </p><p>He is seeking the seat now held by longtime Judge Robert Hackett, who has said he will not seek another term. </p><p>Lawrence-Berrey, 43, has been in private practice in Yakima for 18 years. </p><p>He received his bachelor's degree in economics from Whitman College in 1986 and his law degree from Willamette University in 1989. </p><p>He is a past president of the Yakima County Bar Association. </p><p>Lawrence-Berrey will make his announcement at 11 a.m. at the county courthouse entrance on North Second Street. </p><p>All county Superior Court judge positions are up for election this fall. The term is four years. </p><p>Superior Court judges earn an annual salary of $140,979, a figure that will rise to $148,832 on Sept. 1. </p><p>Salaries for judges and other elected officials in the state executive, legislative and judicial branches are established by a state commission.
