While she was working, the suspect held his cell phone under her skirt, which was videotaped by a loss prevention officer watching on security cameras.

Video surveillance also captured the suspect's license plate which was turned over to Union Gap police. Detectives located and arrested the suspect Wednesday for voyeurism.

Highland area seeks neighborhood watch

TIETON -- Anyone interested in keeping an eye out for criminals in the Highland area is invited to an informational meeting at Tieton Middle School next week.

The meeting will be hosted by the Tieton Police Department and members of the Yakima County Sheriff's Office. Police said they are looking to start a block watch program for the Highland area, which includes Tieton, Cowiche and Naches Heights, that can start patrolling soon.

"What we mostly get are burglaries, and when summer comes it's going to get worse," said Tieton Police Officer Juan Ceja. "We're just looking for people to patrol their area, and be our eyes and ears out there. Highland is a beautiful place to live and we want to keep it safe."

Ceja said the sheriff's office has two citizen patrol vehicles people can use if they qualify, so they don't have to use their own vehicles. Members of the Gleed block watch program will also be present at the meeting to answer questions about volunteering.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Anyone with questions about the block watch can call Ceja at 728-5964.
