&lt;p&gt;TOPPENISH  -- The Toppenish Parks and Recreation Department still has one out-of-town excursion left and the price has dropped.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The department plans to take travelers to Lincoln City, Ore., on Feb. 14-16. The cost is now $150 per person, which includes lodging and transportation.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Art scholarship offered in Grandview &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;GRANDVIEW -- The Bleyhl Community Library in Grandview will offer a scholarship to students planning to attend art school.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Applicants for the $1,500 award must live within 20 miles of Grandview and be under 25 years old.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A portfolio of 10 to 20 original pieces must be submitted before April 15 to the library at 311 Division St.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A jury of Central Washington University art faculty will judge the entries.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;YVCC Grandview workshop set Jan. 15 &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;GRANDVIEW -- The Grandview campus of Yakima Valley Community College will hold its next business workshop Jan. 15.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The class will cover financial planning and run from 1-4 p.m.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It's the third of five workshops held by the campus for Sunnyside, Grandview and Prosser chambers of commerce members, though the public is invited.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Cost for the general public is $65 per workshop, $15 for chamber members. Prosser Chamber members are free but they must sign up with the Prosser Chamber office.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;School retirees meeting Tuesday &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;SUNNYSIDE -- The Lower Yakima Valley Unit of the Washington State School Retirees Association will meet Tuesday at China Grove, 3210 Picard Place.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The business meeting and lunch will start at 11 a.m. while Ardith Carratt, a local writer and retired librarian, will share her experiences about writing her children's book "Secret Messages."&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Bookmark contest starts in Goldendale &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;GOLDENDALE -- The Goldendale Community Library has opened its annual bookmark contest.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The contest, offered by all Fort Vancouver Regional Library District libraries, lets children in kindergarten through eighth grades submit original bookmark designs.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Each library will choose one finalist. In the past, contests have attracted more than 6,000 entries.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Deadline for submissions is Jan. 31.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;PROSSER -- The Prosser Chamber of Commerce will accept nominations for community awards until &lt;br /&gt; Jan. 16.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The annual community award banquet, which honors outstanding volunteers and other individuals, will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Cost is $25.&lt;/p&gt;
