IT'S NOT SOMETHING HE'S PROUD OF: Brendan Duffy has been hit by pitches 15 times in
52 games and 161 at bats.
It has contributed to a .417 on-base percentage, which starting play Tuesday ranked fifth in the Northwest League, but is nothing the Bears outfielder says he aspires to.
"I don't try to get hit, and I don't like getting hit," he said recently, displaying a bruise on his left elbow from just such an incident. "Sometimes I do lean in, but it's not like I'm trying to get a guy to throw at me. It just seems sometimes like I'm a magnate for the ball."
