TOPPENISH -- Police are looking into separate gang-related shootings and a firebombing at the same home over the past several days.
The most recent incident was shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of East First Avenue. Residents in a home there heard four gunshots, and when one of them went outside to check, found evidence of a Molotov cocktail on fire behind the home.
The residents used a fire extinguisher to put the flames out. Officers also found four 9 mm bullet holes in the home's south wall.
The same home was shot at roughly the same time Saturday. A resident said he heard at least two gunshots and glass breaking, police said.
Officers found three bullet holes in the living room window and recovered a bullet from a speaker box.
A witness said he noticed a man wearing a checkered black and white shirt with a hoodie and blue jeans run from the area and get into a gray or silver Chevrolet Malibu that headed south.
If anyone has any information about either incident Tuesday night or Saturday, they are asked to call the Toppenish Police Department at 865-4355.
Wapato man injured in shooting
WAPATO -- A 32-year-old man was hospitalized in satisfactory condition Wednesday after being shot in the chest outside of Wapato, according to the Yakima County Sheriff's Office.

The victim ran to the car of a friend who had just pulled into the driveway and first was taken to Toppenish Community Hospital before being sent to Yakima Regional Cardiac and Medical Center, where he was listed in satisfactory condition, according to deputies.
The victim told police that he didn't know the gunman, who he described as wearing a blue bandana over his face. The suspect's vehicle was described as a maroon four-door, possibly an import, with tinted windows. It was heading north on North Track Road toward Wapato.

Some homes lose power
SUNNYSIDE -- A Lower Valley power failure struck about 14,000 customers Wednesday morning, according to Pacific Power officials.
The power failure started at 9:43 a.m. and affected residents and businesses in Sunnyside, Grandview and the Sulfur Creek area east of Sunnyside. Spokesman Tom Gauntt said a majority of customers had their power restored within seven or eight minutes, except for about 1,100 customers in Sulfur Creek, who had to wait until 10:30 a.m.
Gauntt said the failure was likely linked to Pacific Power's connection to the Bonneville Power Administration.
