Concert tonight in Yakima

A Seattle-based musical duo will perform in Yakima tonight.

With guitars, a keyboard and trumpet, among other instruments, Narayan and Janet Baltzo of You're Loved! present a blend of musical influences from New Age and R&B to gospel, jazz and Sanskrit chant.

The concert is free, but donations will be accepted. The event begins at 7 p.m. at Unity Spiritual Life Center, 401 S. Eighth Ave.

For more information, call 575-5551.

Taco feed to follow service

Toppenish Calvary Bible Church is hosting a taco feed Sunday following its regular morning service.

The event features plenty of food and a piñata for the kids. It begins immediately after the 11 a.m. worship service at the church, 106 Goldendale Ave. in Toppenish. And everyone's invited.

Call the church at 865-3456 for more information.

Life Choices fundraiser slated

A local Oil Can Henry's is holding a fundraiser for Life Choices, a Yakima organization that offers support to women who are dealing with an unplanned pregnancy or the aftermath of abortion.

The benefit takes place from noon to 4 p.m. May 10 at the Oil Can Henry's at 414 S. 72nd Ave., near Rosauers supermarket and the AutoSpa.

During the event, drivers will receive a free, 20-point, full-service oil change for donating items such as diapers, baby formula or cash.

All proceeds and donations will go to Life Choices, formerly the Crisis Pregnancy Center. The organization began in 1986 with the mission of providing options to abortion. Today, it gives free pregnancy tests, referrals, post-abortion counseling and classes on parenting and the importance of making healthy choices.

The majority of its clients are women ages 16 to 24. All services are free.

This is the second year of the Benefit Oil Change event. And organizers are hoping to reach more people this year, especially moms. The fundraiser takes place during Mother's Day weekend.

For more information, visit www.lifechoicesyakima.com, or contact Oil Can Henry's at 966-8300 or och_yakima@hotmail.com.
