YAKIMA, Wash. -- High school seniors applying to college have plenty of local scholarships to consider to help pay for postsecondary education.
Some deadlines are coming up, including online FAFSA forms, which must be finished by Feb. 15.
That is the same deadline as for the Yakima Rotary Trust’s Mary Monroe Davis Scholarship. Since its inception three years ago, the program has given 82 scholarships with a committment of more than $1.6 million.
Yakima Valley Community College Foundation awards an average of 100 awards ranging from $500 to $2,000 each year. Students with questions can contact Stacey Kautz at 509-574-4645 or skautz@yvcc.edu. Applications are due March 15.
