GOLDENDALE, Wash. -- A Goldendale man failed to yield to crossing traffic Friday evening, leading to a two-car accident on State Route 14, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.
Robert Newman, 80, the driver of a 1990 Ford Crown Victoria, was stopped at a stop sign on State Routh 97 when he attempted to turn left onto SR14.
His car collided with a 1995 Ford Contour, driven by Otoniel Escobedo Santana, 43, the release said. Both cars were totalled. The accident was reported at 5:08 p.m.
Newman's passenger, Doris Newman, 80, was taken to Klickitat Valley Health. She was complaining of rib pain.
Neither driver nor the passenger in the Ford Contour, Abelino Escobedo, 22, were injured.
