GOLDENDALE, Wash. -- A truck driver was killed in a fiery rollover crash early this morning that was apparently caused by debris in the road.
The crash happened at 2:50 a.m. when a fuel tanker apparently hit debris in the roadway on State Route 14 about 36 miles southeast of Goldendale, according to the State Patrol.
The tanker slid off the road, rolled and caught fire, forcing closure of the highway for hours as crews cleanup up.
The State Patrol withheld the driver's name pending notification of next of kin. He was 44 years old and from The Dalles, Ore.
