Joseph Llewellyn Jackson
Valley Hills Funeral Home
YAKIMA - Joseph Llewellyn Jackson, 66, of Yakima passed away at Yakima Valley memorial Hospital on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. He was born in Vancouver, Washington to J. Gilbert and Vola Jackson on February 15, 1945.
Joe's pride and joy were his two daughters, whom he raised by himself even though his left side was paralyzed. He did everything he could to make life better for them and devoted his life to making sure they had every opportunity to do the things they wanted to do. He was a very loving father and grandfather. He also loved seeing his grandchildren and spending time with them. He would go to any sporting events they had and attended grandparents' day every year at Riverside Christian School. His loving spirit and sense of humor characterize the man he was and how he will be remembered. He loved to make people laugh.
He is survived by his mother, Vola Jackson of Yakima; sister Delores (Ray) Croswell of Washougal, WA; daughter Patty (Roger) LeBlanc of Yakima; daughter Robin (Scott) Johnson of Yakima; and five grandchildren, Kristen LeBlanc, Nicole LeBlanc, Mara Johnson, Garion Johnson, and Arik Johnson. He was preceded in death by his father, J. Gilbert Jackson and brother, Stewart Jackson.
Graveside Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11 in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. A reception will follow at United Christian Church in Terrace Heights. Services are under the direction of Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima.
