YAKIMA -- Kirk and Charlene Conradi have set up bank accounts at Banner Bank and HAPO Credit Union for people to donate to their son's ongoing cancer treatment.
In October 2010, Rodney Conradi was diagnosed with metatastic Ewing's sarcoma, a form of cancer that starts by forming tumors in the leg bones and spreads from there.
Doctors initially gave him a 20 percent chance of survival long-term; since his diagnosis, the tumors have spread to his pelvic areas, ribs, spine, upper chest cavity and throughout most of his major bones.
Rodney, 21, is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, but is also taking a soy-based supplement multiple times a day to assist the chemo and radiation.
The supplement is very expensive, Kirk Conradi said, so donations will in part go to buying more of the drink.
To donate, go to any Banner Bank or HAPO branch and request to make a deposit to benefit Rodney Conradi in the name of Kirk or Charlene Conradi.
