House begins debate on same-sex marriage this afternoon

OLYMPIA, Wash. — The state House of Representatives will debate and vote on the Marriage Equality Act starting at 1:00 p.m. today.

The measure previously passed the Senate and is expected to pass the House in a vote largely along partly lines, with Democrats supporting the measure.

Gov. Chris Gregoire has said she would sign the legislation into law when it reaches her desk.
