SOAP LAKE, Wash. — Two Lower Yakima Valley residents were injured here Monday when their tractor-trailer rolled off State Route 17.
Juan J. Sanchez, 33, of Sunnyside, was driving a 2001 Freightliner about 8 miles north of Soap Lake when he failed to negotiate a left turn, left the roadway to the right, rolled and came to rest on its passenger side.
Sanchez and passenger Marcos Guzman-Razo, 23, of Mabton, were taken by ambulance to Columbia Basin Hospital. The truck was totaled.
Both men were treated and released.
The State Patrol says the accident was the result of inattention and Sanchez, the driver, faces speeding charges.
