YAKIMA, Wash. -- Junior League of Yakima is looking for applicants for two $3,000 scholarships for the 2012-2013 school year.
The awards, which were first given out in 1985, will go to women with ties to the Yakima area, who are at least 25 years old, have had a significant break in their education since high school and are currently pursuing post-secondary education. Applicants must also plan to pursue careers in the Yakima Valley and show financial need as interpreted by the Scholarship Committee for Junior League of Yakima.
Recipients must agree to follow up with the group in the fall of the following year.
Applications must be postmarked by March 1. They are available online and at the Allied Arts office (5000 W. Lincoln Ave.).
