WAPATO, Wash. -- A spaghetti dinner and silent auction will be held Sunday to help raise funds for Noah's Ark in Wapato, the only homeless shelter in the Lower Valley.
Organized by the Toppenish Council of the Knights of Columbus, the event is from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Filipino-American Hall at 211 W. Second St., Wapato.
Garlic bread, salad and cake for dessert will also be served. Auction items include tools, jewelry and gift certificates to a local tire shop.
Tickets cost $5 a person, or $25 per family and may be purchased at the door. Children 6 and younger are free. Proceeds go to fund shelter operations.
The homeless shelter at 117 E. Second St. in Wapato helps anywhere from 30 to 50 people a day.
Organizers say they hope the fundraiser becomes an annual event.
