YAKIMA, Wash -- Because of improving air conditions, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency tomorrow will lift an outdoor burn ban on the Yakama reservation.
The ban went into effect on Friday, and will be removed at 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to an EPA news release. There are no other burn bans in Yakima County.
Stagnate air conditions on Friday prompted the EPA to impose outdoor burn bans, including agricultural burning, campfires and recreational fires on several reservations in the state. Those other reservations are: Puyallup, Nisqually, Muckleshoot, Colville, Spokane, Chehalis. Those bans also will be lifted tomorrow, the release said.
