PROSSER, Wash. — Prosser police arrested two men Saturday in connection with a suspected domestic assault, according to a department news release. Separately, Prosser police said they took a man into custody early Saturday morning after reports that he fired a pistol at a bar patron.
The domestic assault was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 1000 block of Anna Street. Police said there were two victims of assault, and they arrested two men who are awaiting arraignment on charges of 2nd and 4th degree domestic violence.
The other incident came after officers responded to reports of a shot fired in the area of 6th and Meade in the downtown Prosser business district around 1:52 a.m.
While patrols were responding to the scene, the suspect drove to the police department to talk to officers, according to a press release from police.
At the scene, officers confiscated a 380 semi- automatic pistol that the suspect admitted firing, police said.
Police said several witnesses stated that the suspect had been drinking at one of the local taverns and had an altercation with one of the patrons on the outside of the bar at closing. The suspect fired at the patron, missing him and hitting another business that was also closing, police said.
Officers booked the suspect on suspicion of 1st degree assault pending arraignment.
