Driver following too closely rams semi on I-90

SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — A Seattle woman was following too closely on Interstate 90 this morning just east of the pass when she ran into a tractor-trailer that had slowed for traffic, the Washington State Patrol said in a news release.

Troopers said Tara Miller, 31, was taken to an undisclosed nearby hospital after the 11:37 a.m. accident.

The driver of the Freightliner, Juan Jose Chavez, 32, of Moses Lake, was not injured and the truck was driven from the scene, troopers said.

Both drivers were heading eastbound and were wearing seat belts.
