John D. Baker

John D. Baker, 85, of Yakima died Wednesday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. Mr. Baker was born in Forsyth, Mo. He worked for Ross Packing, retiring after 44 years.

Survivors include his children, Sue Partlow, Darrell Baker and Dennis Baker, all of Selah; two sisters, Mary Burns and Martha Clayton, both of Missouri; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday in West Hills Memorial Park. Those planning to attend should meet at the cemetery. Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care of Yakima.

 

Kenneth Lewis

Kenneth "Jack" Lewis, 77, of Sequim, Wash., died Tuesday at home. Mr. Lewis was born in Worland, Wyo.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Feb. 11 at Sequim Elks Lodge. Arrangements are by Linde Price Funeral Service of Sequim.

 

Marjorie R. Ruppert

Marjorie R. Ruppert, 82, of Sunnyside died Thursday. Mrs. Ruppert was born in Spokane. She taught for 13 years in Portland, Ore., and then moved to Sunnyside and taught at Outlook School for several years. She also taught in Granger before completing her career at Sunnyside Christian School. For several years she also worked at the Sunnyside Public Library.

Survivors include a daughter, Miriam Richardson of Spokane; two sons, Kenneth Ruppert and Kirk Ruppert, both of Sunnyside; two sisters, Helen Chandler and Alice Mae Staeheli, both of Eugene, Ore.; a brother, Chuck Chandler, of Spokane; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Burial will be at 12:45 p.m., Friday in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Friday in Sunnyside Grace Brethren Church.

 

Shirley A. Vick

Shirley Ann Vick, 70, of Union Gap died Thursday. Mrs. Vick was born in Highfill, Ark., and moved to Washington in the late 1960s. She worked for the Washington State Department of Corrections until retiring.

Survivors include a son, Mark Vick of Yakima; two daughters, Jacqueline Hungate of Oregon and Chris Vick of Selah; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are pending. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
