Those bangs? The Training Center

YAKIMA, Wash. — Those explosion-like sounds from the Yakima Training Center? All just routine training.

Emergency dispatchers have received several calls this afternoon regarding loud banging from the Yakima Training Center, said Brenda Cantu, assistant communication manager for Yakima’s 911 center.

The commotion was caused by a company of 3,100 soldiers doing routine artillery training, said James Reddick, a Training Center spokesman.

The soldiers were from the Stryker Brigade Combat Team from Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

"They’re one of our regulars," Reddick said.
