YAKIMA, Wash. -- This blog post has been brought to you by the word makeover.
• One restaurant that will need it, at least locally, is Wendy’s. My Yakima Herald-Republic colleague Mike Faulk reported food safety issues are at the center of the closure of Wendy’s locations in Washington, Oregon and Montana, including two in Yakima.
Meanwhile, new Wendy’s CEO Emil Brolick told investors that the company was looking to bounce back from what he believes are the eatery’s self-inflicted wounds, which included a stale menu and inconsistent service.
• When the new J.C. Penney store opens this fall it will likely be part of a company-wide makeover led by new CEO Ron Johnson. The makeover includes a new pricing strategy, and likely, new services and specialty shops.
Do you think these companies can bounce back? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
