YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Yakima Target store will soon be getting a makeover.
Store manager C.J. St. Clair confirmed today the store will be receiving a remodel featuring an expanded fresh produce and grocery section, part of a the retailer’s new Produce Fresh, or P-Fresh for short, store formats.
Minneapolis-based Target first introduced the concept in 2008 to two stores in Minnesota and began a nationwide rollout in 2009. In past media reports, executives claim that stores with the new concept typically see a 6 percent increase in comparable-store sales.
The remodel will give the Yakima store other new features, but St. Clair said further details were not available. He was sure of one thing: "It will be so much nicer."
The remodel will begin March 26 and the store plans to have a grand reopening for the remodeled store in late June.
