YAKIMA, Wash. -- A man sought for attempted murder in a Sunnyside stabbing incident is in custody.
Yakima Police Lt. Mike Merryman said a police entry team from both jurisdictions arrested Manuel Angel Torres, 29, in a house in the 5200 block of Nob Hill Boulevard late Monday.
Merryman said officers and a Yakima Police K9 unit found Torres hiding under a bed.
The team entered the house about 10:30 p.m.
He said Sunnyside police had developed information that Torres was at the home.
Torres, of Sunnyside, was sought in connection with an assault of a 25-year-old woman at 16th Street and Yakima Valley Highway about 6 p.m. Sunday.
The woman was able to drive herself to Sunnyside Community Hospital.
Sunnyside police spokeswoman Charlotte Hinderlider said Torres was being taken to the Sunnyside jail. He faces possible charges of attempted murder.
