Toppenish man injured in I-82 accident

ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- A 59-year-old Toppenish motorist was hospitalized Monday night when he struck another vehicle on Interstate 82 about six miles south of Ellensburg.

Rueben Jess Sandavol was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am south on I-82 about 6:20 p.m. when he struck the rear of a 2005 Freightliner truck and trailer driven by Mohan Singh Dhillon, 45, of Surrey, B.C., according a Washington State Patrol news release.

Sandavol was taken to Kittitas Valley Community Hospital, and Dhillon was not injured. Both men were wearing seat belts, the news release said.

Sandavol was cited for following too close, the release said.
