SELAH, Wash. — Two people were taken to a local hospital Wednesday for treatment after their vehicles collided on State Route 821, north of Selah.
The Washington State Patrol said driving too fast for the snowy conditions caused the 1:30 p.m. mishap eight miles north of Selah.
A patrol accident report said John Kohl, 55, of Seattle was northbound on the canyon road when he lost control of his 1999 Mercedes Benz. The vehicle entered the southbound lane where it was struck by a 1999 Ford Escape driven by Patti Lyn Troutman, 54, of Ellensburg.
The report said Kohl was driving too fast for conditions.
Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital had no record of the two drivers receiving treatment.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Intoxicants were not a factor in the accident.
