BINGEN, Wash. -- The driver of a car that collided with another, causing injuries to both drivers, was apprehended after leaving the scene of the accident on State Route 14 in western Klickitat County on Saturday night, the Washington State Patrol said.
The State Patrol said in a news release Sunday that Jacqueline L. Carroll, 53, of Lyle was eastbound about 7:50 p.m., when her Honda CRV crossed the centerline and struck a Geo Metro driven by Pamela G. Gage, 58, of Stevenson.
Gage's car ended up in the ditch, and Carroll left the scene of the accident, which was about two miles east of Bingen. She was stopped shortly thereafter, the patrol said.
Gage was taken to Skyline Hospital in White Salmon for treatment of broken ribs, an ankle injury, cuts and bruises. She was treated and released.
Carroll was taken to Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale for treatment of a head injury. Her condition was not available Sunday evening.
The patrol said she was charged with driving under the influence, vehicular assault and hit and run.
