YAKIMA, Wash. -- Troopers are looking for the driver of a white van that fled the scene of an injury accident one mile west of Cle Elum late Friday night.
The crash took place around 11:30 p.m. near milepost 79 on Interstate 90 when the van, traveling eastbound in the left lane, swerved into the right lane, hitting a 1997 Landrover Discovery.
The Discovery rolled, coming to a rest on its top.
The driver, 42-year-old Timothy Hoberock of Redmond, was taken to Snoqualmie Valley Hospital with cuts and abrasions.
The passenger, 32-year-old Lucy Reyes-Hoberock, also of Redmond, was taken to the same hospital with a back injury.
Both were wearing seatbelts, according to the Washington State Patrol, which cited the cause of the accident as unsafe lane change.
The van, whose make and model remain unknown, fled the scene. Its driver faces felony hit-and-run charges, according to the state patrol.
The Discovery was totaled and towed.
