ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- An Everett man was injured Friday night when the car he was driving left the roadway, drove through a barbwire fence and struck a stump.
The crash took place around 6:30 p.m. at milepost 107.5 on Interstate 90 in Ellensburg.
Donald James Layton, 64, of Everett, was heading westbound in a 1988 Honda Accord when the accident occurred.
He was taken to Kittitas Valley Hospital with right rib pain and lacerations to his hands.
He was wearing a seatbelt, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers suspect drugs or alcohol were involved. The cause remains under investigation and charges are pending.
The car was totaled and towed.
