OK, so you want to try a little salsa dancing when Grupo Ashé brings its Cuban-fusion sounds to The Seasons Performance Hall in Yakima tonight. Problem is, you've nary a clue how to pull it off without looking like an idiot.
Don't worry, The Seasons has you covered. Prior to the 8 p.m. Grupo Ashé performance, the venue will host a 7 p.m. dance workshop led by members of the Tri-Cities-based Salsa Con Rumba Dance Co. It's the perfect combination of instruction and practice, all set to high-energy Latin music -- and all outdoors as part of The Seasons' "Salsa in the Streets" series.
Grupo Ashé is not your traditional band, either. It mixes Cuban rhythms with salsa, jazz, hip-hop and funk for a sound that appeals to old and young alike.
Tickets cost $10, and they're available from The Seasons box office, by phone at 888-723-7660 or online at www.theseasonsyakima.com. The Seasons is at 101 N. Naches Ave.
