Most state agencies will be closed on Tuesday due to state-imposed furloughs.

The law requires that state agencies close on 10 specified days to reduce state government spending for employees. Agencies had the option of coming up with their own plans to save the same amount of money.

Public safety, public health and revenue-generation agencies are exempt from the law.

Additional closures will be on Oct. 11, Dec. 27, Jan. 28, Feb. 22, March 11, April 22 and June 10. For a list of closures, go to ofm.wa.gov/layoff.
