YAKIMA -- MOMS Club of Yakima is inviting the public to a free barbecue and open house Thursday.
The event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kissel Park at the corner of 32nd and Mead avenues. All stay-at-home mothers and their children are invited.
MOMS Club (Moms Offering Moms Support) is a local nonprofit activity club for stay-at-home mothers and their children.
The local club is an affiliate chapter of MOMS Club International. There are more than 2,000 chapters in the United States and more than 100,000 members.
Activities held by the local group include play groups, park days, field trips, a book club, current events group, crafts, community service project and regular social functions throughout the year.
The local group will be holding a Sept. 15 business meeting at 9:30 a.m. at the Central Lutheran Church, 1604 W. Yakima Ave.
