YAKIMA, Wash. -- A 19-year-old woman was sentenced Wednesday to nearly nine years in prison for robbing a Yakima convenience store at gunpoint.
Haven Mary Scabbyrobe of Parker earlier pleaded guilty in Yakima County Superior Court to a charge of first-degree robbery for the stickup at the Nob Hill Food Mart, 1710 E. Nob Hill Blvd. on Sept. 17, 2009.
Security footage backed up a clerk’s claim that a young woman armed with a shotgun came into the store at 6:10 a.m. and told everyone to get on the floor.
The robber ran off after the clerk handed over cash from the till. Scabbyrobe was arrested after her getaway car was linked to a shooting three days later.
For her plea to the robbery charge, prosecutors dismissed an unrelated forgery charge as well as an assault charge for allegedly punching a jail guard in the face.
Prosecutor Jim Hagarty said the guard approved of the plea deal, given the lengthy sentence in the case.
