Menudo cooks to compete Sunday in Granger

GRANGER -- Contestants will bring out their best recipes Sunday for a shot at cash prizes during this Lower Valley town's seventh annual menudo cook-off.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hisey Park at the corner of State Route 223 and Main Street.

Eight local bands will perform at the park's amphitheater, and a car show and beer garden will also be on tap.

So far, 10 people have entered the cook-off. The fee to enter the contest is $25. Menudo will be judged on taste and texture.

The first-place winner will receive $300, second place wins $200 and third place takes home $100.
