GRANGER -- Contestants will bring out their best recipes Sunday for a shot at cash prizes during this Lower Valley town's seventh annual menudo cook-off.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hisey Park at the corner of State Route 223 and Main Street.
Eight local bands will perform at the park's amphitheater, and a car show and beer garden will also be on tap.
So far, 10 people have entered the cook-off. The fee to enter the contest is $25. Menudo will be judged on taste and texture.
The first-place winner will receive $300, second place wins $200 and third place takes home $100.
Anyone interested in entering the contest can do so by calling the Granger Chamber of Commerce at 509-854-7304.
