YAKIMA, Wash. — The National Weather Service says blowing dust could be a problem until 8 p.m. Thursday in much of Eastern Washington.

West winds of 20-to-25 mph with gusts to 35 are forecast in the area east of Wenatchee and Ellensburg through Moses Lake and the Tri-Cities to Pullman.

A spokeswoman for the West Valley Fire Department in Yakima said complaints about smoke in the area probably stemmed from blowing dust.
