YAKIMA, Wash. -- Fireworks caused a shrub fire that led to a mobile home fire in the area of 12th Avenue and Spokane Street on Monday night.

Just after 10:30 p.m., crews from the Yakima Fire Department battled a fire found on multiple arborvitae on the property, according to a news release from the department. The fire then spread to a mobile home south of the original fire.

The Yakima Fire Department, with aid from the Union Gap Fire Department, worked on two different fronts and managed to bring the fire under control. Firefighters also searched for hidden fires at both properties. They removed awnings and cut a hole in the roof of the mobile home to make sure the fire wasn't smoldering there.

There were no injuries.

Damages, which is estimated at $48,000, include the destruction of 27 mature arborvitae and a willow tree on the property of the initial fire and damage to the patio, awnings, mud room and roof of the mobile home.
