YAKIMA, Wash. — Four suspects were arrested today in Yakima after a home-invasion robbery in Selah, authorities said.

A Yakima County sheriff’s deputy spotted the suspect vehicle near 34th Avenue and Castlevale Road shortly after 11:30 a.m. and attempted to stop it. The occupants fled.

Two were detained near the scene and two others fled, Yakima police Lt. Mike Merryman said.

One was later arrested, and police then focused their efforts on the Pear Tree Place apartment complex in the 2900 block of Powerhouse Road.

A resident there had reported that an acquaintance, believed to be one of the robbery suspects, had broken into his apartment. Officers were able to make phone contact with the suspect, and he agreed to come out, Merryman said.

But he did not surrender until he saw the SWAT team setting up, Merryman said.

The man is wanted by Yakima police in connection with a Friday morning shooting in the 700 block of North Third Avenue, Merryman said.
More details were not immediately available about the robbery call in Selah.
