From the Yakima Herald-Republic Online News.
Connoisseurs of old-time music -- and, yes, that is a legitimate, bona fide genre -- ought not to miss Deadwood Revival tonight at The Seasons Performance Hall.
A string band well-versed in a variety of old-timey styles, this Western Washington quartet plays everything from Appalachian to more modern folk styles. And they're not afraid to rock a little bit either.
Their website touts a sound that's "old-time string band meets acoustic Grateful Dead." And, while the Dead's own old-time influences make that description a bit redundant, it's a pretty good summation of the Deadwood Revival style. They mix in some ballads, but for the most part this is a jam band -- a 19th century jam band, but still unmistakably a jam band.
Their live shows are known for a high energy level and casual atmosphere, and tonight should be no different. The show starts at 7:30. Tickets cost $15 and are available from www.theseasonsyakima.com or at The Seasons, 101 N. Naches Ave.
