From the Yakima Herald-Republic Online News.
For more than a decade, Lonestar was one of country music's biggest draws, and its lead singer during that run was Richie McDonald.
McDonald, who plays an "unplugged and up-close" show at The Seasons Performance Hall tonight, supplied the soaring, twangy vocals for hits such as "No News," "Come Cryin' To Me" and "Amazed" before leaving the band in 2007. His crossover-ready voice and Lonestar's pop-influenced music put him at the vanguard of the new-country sound of the 1990s. There's a little of the old pickup-and-whiskey style to him, too, though.
Bryan White, who had his own string of country hits in the 1990s, is also on the bill for tonight's show. You may remember him from "Someone Else's Star," "Rebecca Lynn" and "So Much for Pretending," all of which hit No. 1 on the Billboard country charts.
The Seasons is at 101 N. Naches Ave. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $18 and $38. For tickets or information, visit www.theseasonsyakima.com or call 509-453-1888.
