Alfonso Leal

Alfonso Zebon Leal, 82, of Yakima died Thursday. Mr. Leal was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He worked as an orchard foreman.

Survivors include a son, Alfonso Leal Jr.; two daughters, Elvira Loranz of Yakima and Elisabeth Kriewald of Seattle; and four grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Valley Hills Funeral Home of Yakima. Private graveside services will be held.

Judy Fryar

Judy Fryar, 83, of Yakima died Wednesday at home. Mrs. Fryar was born in Pittsburg, Kan., and was a welder and riveter for Boeing in Wichita, Kan., during World War II. She worked for more than 20 years for the U.S. Postal Service in Yakima.

Survivors include four daughters, Marianne Switzer and Sherry Fryar, both of Yakima, Kathy Lattin of Allyn, Wash., and Karen Tebnya of Lenore, Idaho; three sons, Mike Fryar of Vancouver, Wash., Brian Fryar of La Center, Wash., and Nathan Fryar of Richland; a stepsister, Dee McCarthy of Lakeland, Fla.; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. March 27 at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel.

Benny C. Butkovich

Benny Charles Butkovich, 55, of Roslyn died Tuesday at home. Mr. Butkovich was born in Ellensburg.

Recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Roslyn. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, also at the church. Burial will follow in Veterans Memorial Gardens in the Roslyn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cascade Funeral Home of Cle Elum.

Doris Roderick

Doris Roderick, 90, of Yakima died Wednesday. Mrs. Roderick was born in Leland, Idaho. She was a food service specialist for Outlook and Sunnyside school districts, retiring after 33 years.

Survivors include two brothers, Dan Garoutte of Yakima and LeRoy Garoutte of Prosser; two sons, Raymond Roderick of Sunnyside and Warren Roderick of Kirkland, Wash.; three daughters, Leta Langholff of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Barbara Barkey of Kent, Wash., and DiAnn Schutt of Sunnyside; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A family service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Burial will follow in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

Marianna Heintz

Marianna Heintz, 84, of Yakima died March 9 at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. Mrs. Heintz was born in Yakima and lived in Montana for several years before returning to the Yakima area. She and her husband farmed in Selah.

Survivors include three children, Marshall Elliason of Roseville, Minn., June Cormican of Pine City, Minn., and Evelyn Chase of Green Valley, Ariz.; six siblings, Catherine McIntyre of Fair Oaks, Calif., Marquerite Marks of Moxee, Florence Shawa of Long Beach, Wash., and Teresa Paulson, John Zimmerman and Joseph Zimmerman, all of Yakima; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A remembrance gathering will be at a later date. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Funeral and Cremation Care of Kennewick.

Samuel A. McWain

Samuel Albert McWain, 79, of Federal Way, Wash., died March 5 in Auburn, Wash. Mr. McWain was born and raised in Yakima and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He settled in Seattle and worked 35 years for General Electric.

Survivors include four children, Toni McWain of Tacoma, Denise Huska of Auburn, Steven McWain of Fullerton, Calif., and Tom McWain of Woodbury, N.J.; six brothers, Donald E. McWain Sr., of Longview, Wash., Jim McWain of Kennewick, Jack McWain of Ogden, Utah, Harold McWain of Burien, Wash., Wilbert McWain Sr. of Yakima and Edgar McWain of Kerrisville, Texas; two sisters, Helen Rought and Dorothy Woodward, both of Yakima; and six grandchildren.

Yahn and Sons Funeral Home in Auburn handled cremation arrangements.

Paul D. Roberts

Paul Dean Roberts, 71, of Yakima died Wednesday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. Mr. Roberts was born in Thompson, Ill., and served in the Army. He was a Yakima resident for 53 years and worked as a dependency counselor.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Roberts of Yakima; a foster son, Rob Owen of Sunnyside; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Watson of Yakima; two sisters, Marilyn Butler and Mary Zumwalt, both of Yakima; and five grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at noon Wednesday in Tahoma Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at the cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.

Sherry D. Muncriel

Sherry Denise (Dimmer) Muncriel, 53, of Seattle died Monday. Mrs. Muncriel was born and raised in Yakima. She was a health care specialist.

Survivors include her mother, Mary Nell Dimmer-Jones; four children, Felicia Kelley, Ricky, Jesse, and Tanisha; four sisters, Jan, Vanessa, Rochelle and Trudy; two brothers, Ricky and Daryl; and one grandchild.

Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Southwest Mortuary, 9021 Rainier Ave. S. in Seattle.
