YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Toppenish man Thursday who had walked away from his home while wearing an electronic monitoring device, part of his sentence for multiple drinking and driving charges.

Mark Reece Comenout, 56, was arrested without incident on a civil warrant. He had walked away two days earlier while serving 240 days on the electronic home monitoring program.

Comenout was booked into the Yakima County Department of Corrections on Thursday evening. According to the sheriff’s office, Corrections will be seeking additional criminal charges against Comenout.
