The bail for Teofil Soto Garcia, 41, of Yakima remains at $250,000.
Yakima police say Garcia fired several shots March 4 at 13 boys playing soccer in the yard of the Union Gospel Mission's Madison House resource center on South Fourth and East Spruce streets.
The boys told police Garcia walked up and asked them if they were members of a gang. When they told him no, Garcia fired six shots at the group and they ran away.
Nobody was hurt.
Conviction of first-degree assault carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment and a $50,000 fine.
